BloomIQ to Launch AI-powered Produce Market Intelligence Platform at IFPA

App delivers market clarity, real-time alerts and data warehouse across 30+ commodities

ANAHEIM, CA – After 12 months in development, BloomIQ will unveil its AI-powered produce market intelligence platform at the IFPA Global Produce & Floral Show, October 16–18, 2025, in Anaheim, CA.

The new BloomIQ app, to be released October 16th, offers unprecedented access to industry data and emerging trends through intuitive dashboards and a user-friendly interface. The platform is built on Bloom's proprietary data warehouse, which tracks variables affecting 30+ commodities (80+ by year end) at more than 12,500 locations globally and uses artificial intelligence to generate predictive analysis and real-time alerts on changing conditions.

"BloomIQ delivers insights and clarity to the history and future of the produce market," said David Karwacki, CEO of BloomIQ. "We built a living database that tracks past, current, and forecasted data across multiple variables that affect crops and pricing, then layered on algorithms to analyze the complex interdependencies. It's a tool that can improve long-term planning, facilitate quick pivots as conditions change, and drive greater profitability for everyone in the produce supply chain."

Designed by the Industry for the Industry

After his retirement as CEO of Star Produce in 2023, Karwacki began exploring the uses for advanced AI in the produce industry. He pulled together a team with global experience in produce, artificial intelligence, and tech financing to create BloomIQ.

"For 35 years, I saw the fine line that separates winning and losing in produce," said Karwacki. "Now we have technology that draws that line more clearly – for retailers, growers, distributors, and logistics partners."

BloomIQ features include:

  • Crop-Caster – A tracking tool that predicts when new crops will enter the market based on historical data and weather models.
  • One-button Analytics – Users can generate historical and predictive reports, graphs, and data summaries by commodity or region.
  • Real-time Alerts – An alerts dashboard provides ongoing updates on variables that can impact crop quality or prices.

Among the highlights of the new app is the introduction of "BiQ" – an AI-powered large-language model (LLM) that provides instant answers to questions about industry conditions.

"BiQ is incredibly powerful and simple to use," said Karwacki. "Data integration and algorithms sound complex, but BiQ is like having a conversation with the best-informed insider in the produce industry."

"Like everything in the AI universe, the BloomIQ app is evolving quickly," said Karwacki. "Trial users are telling us what they need, especially retailers who want to integrate BloomIQ into their planning models."
